10. Italian Bakery
Growing up in Italian culture, we learned the significance of sharing a meal with family. Food was art, meals were made with attention, care and pride. Using only fresh and quality ingredients. It was an expression of love. Italian Bakery has taken that knowledge alongside our experience in the industry to create a place where friends and family alike can gather, shop and enjoy. It’s not just a market to us, it’s our lifestyle, where we come from and what we hold most important. The team at Italian Bakery has been proud to serve the community for over 60 years, and in 2017, we decided to take that experience and vision to the next level. This led to the creation of Italian Bakery’s Mercato, a place where our passion for authentic Italian flavours could shine even brighter. Though we’ve faced our fair share of challenges, including a devastating fire at our Beverly location in 2016, we came back stronger than ever, reopening in 2017 with a larger, better space to serve you. Then, in early April 2020, another unfortunate fire struck our 97th Street downtown location. But once again, we didn’t back down. We persevered and rebuilt, but now after 60 years, it was time to close the doors to our 97th Street downtown location for good as we continue to bring our passion to our store in Beverly.
